One killed in interstate accident in Lexington County
Cayce, SC (Paul Kirby) – State Troopers are investigating a fatal collision that occurred near Cayce on I-26 at the I-77 interchange in Lexington County Wednesday afternoon.
The SCHP says that the crash happened just after 5 p.m. when a car going east toward Charleston on I-26 changed lanes improperly. That car struck another one and both cars ran off the interstate and hit the guardrail.
Troopers say that the driver of the car who made the improper lane change died at the scene. The other driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that were suffered during the collision.
The accident remains under investigation by the SCHP and the Lexington County Coroner’s office.
