Clemson headed to the Fiesta Bowl
Clemson, SC – The Clemson Tigers, ranked number 2 in the nation, will play the number 3 Ohio State Buckeyes in the Fiesta Bowl on the last day of December in the University of Phoenix’s stadium located in Glendale, Arizona. This game will decide who will play the winner of the Peach Bowl matchup between number 1 Alabama and number 4 Washington in the National Championship game.
Clemson’s coach Dabo Swinney and Ohio State’s Urban Meyer are both college football legends in their own right. Although Swinney is the younger of the two, both have gained success through hard work, strong supportive staffs, and recruiting of top tier players from their states, regions, and nationally.
Both universities have college football playoff experience. Clemson played in last season’s national title game against the Crimson Tide of Alabama where they made a respectable showing. The final score had Alabama on top 45 to 40 when the clock ran out.
Ohio State won the National Championship trophy following the 2014 season beating the Oregon Ducks 42-20.
This is a game of two elite teams. The winner will face a titan no matter who wins the Alabama, Washington game, although most have Alabama in a landslide more than a month before that game will be played.
Will Alabama make it through another season un-beaten and add another National Championship ring to their pedigree? Can Washington withstand the Crimson Tide or will they suffer loss number 2 for the year?
Only time will tell who will be number one and be crowned the number 1 college team in the nation in Tampa, Florida on January 9, 2017.
