Attempted armed robbery of convenience store causes law enforcement to respond in force to Red Bank

Red Bank, SC (Paul Kirby) - Someone attempted to hold up the C-Mart convenience store at Two Notch and Emanuel Church Roads last night. Citizens began to comment on social media around 9:00 p.m. about the heavy law enforcement presence at the store and surrounding areas.

Citizens reported that there were deputies at most key intersections down Emanuel Church Road shortly after the robbery was reported. It was unclear exactly how many deputies were involved or how long they held this perimeter.

According to Colby Gallagher, a spokesperson for the sheriff’s department, the suspect was reported to have been armed, but did not get away with any money during the attempted stick up. She said that no one was injured during the attempted robbery and as of 9:30 p.m. last night, no one had been arrested for this crime.
