Captain Scott Morrison of West Columbia PD promoted to Assistant Chief

West Columbia, SC – According to the city of West Columbia, Captain Scott Morrison of the West Columbia Police Department has been promoted to the position of assistant police chief. The promotion was made in the fall of 2016. He will serve as second in command to Chief Dennis Tyndall, who has been the chief there for a number of years.
Morrison began his career with the WCPD in 1995 as a jailer and patrol officer. He was promoted to sergeant in 2000. He has also served as a lieutenant, patrol captain, and most recently, the captain over the department’s administration.
Morrison is a graduate of Irmo High School in Lexington/Richland School District Five and the University of SC in Criminal Justice. He is also a graduate of the FBI National Academy in Virginia and the S.C. LECC/SCLEOA Commander School.
