Lexington District One cancels all Saturday activities

LEXINGTON, S.C. — After carefully monitoring the weather situation, considering the expectation of possible snow/ice precipitation on Saturday, January 7, Lexington County School District One is canceling all programs, athletic practices or events, adult education classes, other school or district-related meetings, events or extra-curricular activities scheduled for Saturday. This is for all students in all Lexington District One attendance areas.

The district also cancels its Saturday, January 7, board workshop.

Road conditions and concern for the safety of our students, parents and employees as they commute to and from events drive this decision. As always, their safety is our highest priority.

District officials will keep parents, staff and students informed by using SchoolMessenger to get other messages out quickly by telephone.

Parents can also get information about any school delays or cancellations in Lexington District One by following Lexington District One on social media, checking the district’s website at, calling the district’s 24-hour recorded telephone message center at 803-821-1299, watching local television stations, going to media websites, or listening to local radio stations.
