White Knoll High School threat not credible according to LCSD

White Knoll, SC (Paul Kirby) – Yesterday evening, the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department announced that threats made by a former White Knoll High School student to carry out a shooting at the school were not credible. According to their post on social media, an investigation was begun after it was learned that two threats to perpetrate the violence at the school had been made.
The statement further said that investigators questioned the individual, but they determined that those threats were merely that, threats. The department said that the young man is now at home with his parents.
At the request of the school district, he has been placed on trespass notice from all Lexington One property. Trespass warnings are a formal notice that if an individual returns to the property he has been warned from, he is subject to immediate arrest.
The department plans to add additional deputies to the campus on Friday out of an abundance of caution. It is hoped that this will have a calming effect on the school, its students, their parents, and faculty.
