Pelion High students invited on South Carolina Youth Tour

Pelion, SC - Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative recently invited two Pelion High School juniors to participate in the 2017 South Carolina Electric Cooperative Youth Tour.
After successfully completing an intensive application process and interview, juniors Hannah Grace Daggerhart and Macey Marie McLaurin were selected to participate in this unique opportunity. They will go on an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington, D.C. this June.
According to Mid-Carolina Electric Cooperative, the Youth Tour began in the late 1950s with the goal of showing students the important roles electric cooperatives play in their community. Students also gain a personal understanding of American history and learn about ways they can make a difference as a young leader.
More than 40,000 students from rural areas and small towns across America have participated in this program.
Daggerhart and McLaurin will also have the opportunity to compete for a scholarship through the Electric Cooperatives of South Carolina.
