SCANA, City of Cayce to hold ribbon-cutting for new ‘Welcome to Cayce’ sign
Cayce, SC - Sign symbolizes economic development, potential growth in the area
What: SCANA Corporation, the parent company of SCE&G, and the City of Cayce will hold a dedication ceremony and ribbon-cutting for a new “Welcome to Cayce” sign on 12th Street Extension near Interstate 77. The new sign was donated by SCANA and CMC Steel, two of several prominent companies located in the area.
Officials say the sign symbolizes economic growth and potential in Cayce, where businesses have located and recreational attractions have drawn thousands of visitors annually.
Who: Speakers for the event will include SCE&G President of Retail Operations Keller Kissam, City of Cayce Mayor Elise Partin and Cayce Beautification Foundation President Butch Kelly.
When: Friday, Feb. 3 at 11 a.m.
Where: 12th Street Extension (directly in front of the sign and near the intersections of Fort Congaree Trail and 12th Street Extension).
Why: Located between Interstate 77 and Interstate 26, Cayce, S.C. has approximately 13,000 residents and more than 700 businesses that span across 17 miles in Lexington County. SCANA Corporation headquarters, Lexington Medical Center, Amazon and Nephron Pharmaceuticals are just a few of the businesses located in the Cayce area. Attractions like the award-winning Cayce Tennis & Fitness Center and the Timmerman Trail draw thousands of visitors to Cayce annually.
The event will be held rain or shine. Safety vests are required and will be provided. Please wear appropriate footwear for outdoor terrain.
