Sheriff’s investigators on Princeton Road in the early stages of a death investigation
South Congaree, SC (Paul Kirby) – Investigators with the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department are on the scene of a death investigation in the 3000 block of Princeton Road just west of the town of South Congaree. This is the portion of Princeton Rd. between Edmund Hwy. and Ramblin Rd.
According to Captain Adam Myrick, spokesman for the department, they are in the very early stages of this investigation. Myrick said that they are following leads on a possible suspect in the case.
Witnesses in the area saw deputies arriving on the scene just before noon Wednesday and notified The Lexington Ledger staff. Other sheriff’s cruisers were spread up and down Princeton Road on both sides of Edmund Highway around 11:45 a.m.
Investigators have since confirmed that a man was found shot to death at the brick home on the rural road that has been heavily traveled since the dam washed out on Ramblin Rd. during the 2015 floods. They responded to reports of shots fired in the area around 11:15 a.m. and located the man's body after they arrived.
