South Congaree shooting victim identified

South Congaree, SC (Paul Kirby) Lexington County’s Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the man that was shot and killed near South Congaree Wednesdaymorning. Fisher said that the man was Rodney Steven Isaac, who was 23 years old at the time of his death. Fisher also said that Issac died at the scene from what appears to be a single gunshot wound.

At approximately 11:15 A.M. on February, 8th, the sheriff’s department received reports of shots being fired at a home in the 3000 block of Princeton Road just west of the South Congaree town limits. When the first deputies arrived on the scene, they found Issac’s body.

Fisher said that she has scheduled an autopsy for Thursday, February 9th, 2017 to determine the exact cause of death.

The Lexington County Sheriff's Department has said that they have solid leads on a suspect in the murder. They are continuing to follow those leads and investigate the incident.
