Road closures and detours during the Lexington's Race Against Hunger event Saturday, February 25
Lexington, S.C. (February 23, 2017) – Chief Terrence Green would like to remind residents that the annual Lexington’s Race For Hunger will be on the morning of Saturday, February 25, 2017. Those who are traveling within the Town of Lexington during this event may be detoured around the race route or experience momentary road closures.
Lexington’s Race Against Hunger will begin and end at the Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church which is located at 5503 Sunset Blvd. in Lexington.
Road closures and detours will begin along the race route at approximately 7:00 a.m. All affected roadways are anticipated to reopen at approximately 10:30 a.m. Access to and exiting from some neighborhoods may also be affected during this race.
Lexington’s Race Against Hunger will affect the following roadways:
Sunset Blvd. from Old Cherokee Road to North Lake Drive
North Lake Drive from Sunset Blvd. to Main Street
Harmon Street from North Lake Drive to East Main Street
East Main Street from Swartz Road to North Church Street
South Lake Drive from East Main Street to Railroad Avenue
North Church Street from North Lake Drive to Main Street
South Church Street from Roberts Street to Main Street
Gibson Road from Pond View Lane to Hendrix Street
Roberts Street from South Church Street to Hendrix Street
Hendrix Street from Roberts Street to South Church Street
Updates of road closures and other announcements will be made through the Lexington Police Department Facebook and Twitter accounts during the event.
