GHS AP students visit State House

GILBERT, S.C. — Students in AP government and AP economics classes taught by Marianne A. Haney and Jimmy Wade Cooke witnessed legislative action firsthand while on a field study Wednesday, January 25, at the S.C. State House.
During their day in Columbia, the Gilbert High students witnessed the S.C. Senate re-electing Sen. Hugh Leatherman, R-Florence, to its highest position.
Students also toured the State House and met with Sen. Katrina Shealy, R-Lexington, and Senate Majority Leader Shane Massey, R-Edgefield.
