Red Bank, SC (Paul Kirby) - A short vehicle pursuit has ended with a suspect in custody in the Red Bank area of Lexington County.

According to Colby Gallagher, a spokesperson for the Lexington County Sheriff's Office, deputies pursued the vehicle for a short distance before the suspect stopped and fled on foot near Bluefield Road and South Lake Drive.

K9 deputies responded to track the suspect. Gallagher said that the fugitive was taken into custody near that location a short time later.

The reason that the driver of the car failed to stop and initiated the pursuit, and the vehicle that deputies initially tried to stop have not been released by the Sheriff's Department. Neither has the identity of the suspect or what that individual will eventually be charged with.
