23-year-old man identified as the victim of morning shooting near Irmo

Lexington, SC - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the victim of a fatal shooting that occurred at approximately 4:40 A.M. on March 17, 2017 in the 400 block of Piney Grove Road.

According to Coroner Fisher, Mr. Dontre’yal Weathersbee, 23, of Columbia was pronounced dead at the scene as the result of apparent gunshot wounds.

An autopsy has been scheduled for March 18, 2017. The investigation by the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is ongoing.
