Rider injured in motorcycle wreck succumbs to injuries
South Congaree, SC (Paul Kirby) - A rider who crashed a motorcycle at the intersection of East Steel and Platt Springs Roads on Wednesday, March 15th, has succumbed to his injuries and died. He passed away on Saturday, March 18th.
According to Lance Corporal David Jones of the SC Highway Patrol, the rider was travelling east on East Steel Road when he approached the stop sign at Platt Springs Road, lost control of the bike and crashed. The wreck happened just before 1 a.m.
The rider was treated at the scene before being transported to the hospital. There, he was treated by the medical staff for several days before he actually passed.
The rider was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The name of the rider has not yet been released by the Lexington County Coroner’s office.
