Anonymous tip leads to arrest, recovery of stolen vehicle

Lexington, S.C. - An anonymous tip has lead to the arrest of a Lexington man who stole a car from an elderly woman Thursday afternoon.

Deputies arrested Timothy Roberts, Friday afternoon after Roberts pretended to "assist" an elderly woman by helping her to locate her car in a parking lot, but never returned her car or keys.

Roberts faces charges on grand larceny, driving under suspension, and his two previous bench warrants.

He is currently waiting an appearance before a bond judge.

The 84-year-old woman's car has been recovered and returned to her by investigators.
