Mobile home damaged by fire on Mimosa Drive near Sharpes Hill community Sunday morning

Sharpes Hill, SC (Paul Kirby) – A mobile home caught fire and burned on the dirt portion of Mimosa Drive off Fish Hatchery Road on Sunday morning around 10:45 am. Firefighters from the county’s Sharpes Hill station pulled up first and reported that they had smoke showing from the home.

First due crews pulled their hoses and made a fire attack. Other crews set up a rural water shuttle with tankers to supply the water for the fight. Other firefighters arrived from surrounding stations and joined in the effort to put the fire out. Eventually, they had several hose lines in operation on the fire attack.

The fire was marked under control just after 11:00 a.m. Firefighters had completed their operations and turned the property back over to the residents before 1 pm.

Ironically, this home was within a mile of the double-wide that burned on Saturday.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage to the home have not been released by the county’s fire service.
