Corner releases autopsy findings of man killed at CMC Metals yesterday

Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has released the cause of death of Mr. Corey Thomas Morris, 26, of Murrells Inlet, SC, who was killed while working at the CMC Metals Company location in Cayce, SC on April 13, 2017. According to Coroner Margaret Fisher, autopsy findings revealed that Mr. Morris died due to blunt force trauma to the head.

Mr. Morris, a welder employed by a subcontracted company, sustained the fatal injury as the result of a workplace accident at CMC Metals Company. Details of the accident remain under investigation by the Cayce Department of Public Safety and CMC officials.
