Green is Clean Month – Recycle Day Event April 29th - Lexington County Residents

Lexington, SC - As part of Lexington County’s Green is Clean Month, residents will have the opportunity to recycle electronics, household hazardous waste, shred documents and donate slightly used shoes at the Recycle Day event scheduled for April 29, 2017 at White Knoll High School from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This is also a statewide collection event of household and farmer pesticides.

This event is being hosted by the County of Lexington Solid Waste Management Department and Public Works Department, Stormwater Division, in partnership with Lexington Countywide Stormwater Consortium, Keep the Midlands Beautiful, and the South Carolina Department of Agriculture.

The event is to be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 5643 Platt Springs Road, Lexington (White Knoll High School parking lot).

The following will be accepted from residents for recycling:

Printers

TVs

Cell PhonesVCR and DVD Players

Fax Machines

Stereo Equipment

Household Electronics

NO Refrigerators (bring to Lexington Cnty – Edmund Landfill)

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE

Paint – Limit 8 gallons

(Oil and Latex)

Cleaners & Degreasers

Glues & Adhesives

PCB Ballasts

Fire Extinguishers

Fluorescent Tubes

Items with Mercury

Pool & Spa Chemicals

Solvents & Thinners

Household Batteries

NO Explosives

NO Asbestos

NO Medical items

PESTICIDES

*Electronic Waste (TVs, Computers, Monitors, Printers, Mobile Phones) must be recycled and not placed in the garbage in accordance with the SC Code of Law, 48-60-05 et seq. Residents should keep electronics intact for the purpose of recycling.
