Lexington County Sheriff’s Department partners with Lexington Technology Center to provide new jail

Lexington, SC (Paul Kirby) – Recently, the Lexington County Detention Center took delivery of a number of new steel tables that will be used in that facility with their inmates. These tables were designed and built by the staff and students of the Lexington Technology Center.
Tuesday, Sheriff Jay Koon, and some of his staff, delivered drinks and biscuits to the students who helped with the project, as their way of saying thanks for a job well done. They also met with the media to explain how much of a contribution to the county these young students actually have made.
In this video, Sheriff Koon, and the Welding Lab Instructor Ashley Black, explain how this project saved our taxpayers more than $20,000 and benefited the students, their training, and their education through such a partnership:
