Irmo Police seek identity of shoplifting suspect

Irmo, SC - The Irmo Police Department is seeking the assistance of the community in identifying and locating a suspect of a shoplifting from a local business located at 1180 Dutch Fork Road.

The shoplifting took place around 1 p.m. on May 11, 2017 when a man entered the business and took items without paying. The man left on foot and was sighted near Broad River Road and Shady Grove Road. When officers approached, the man matching the description, he fled on foot into the woods.

Officers are currently circulating the area looking for him. Information that we have received leads us to believe that the man is homeless and may still be in the area on foot. The man is described as a white male with a black beard and black shaggy hair, 6’02” wearing a black shirt, black shorts and tan hat.
