B-L High Graduation is Friday, May 26
Batesburg-Leesville, SC - The 97th graduation exercises for Batesburg-Leesville High School will be held on Friday, May 26 at 7 p.m. on the home side of Panther Stadium. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved to the Fine Arts Center. This year, each graduate will receive seven tickets for family members and friends if the ceremony has to be moved to the FAC. The air-conditioned gym will also have closed circuit television available for any overflow audience.
Information on the 2017 valedictorian and salutatorian and their commencement speeches, as well as other photos and articles on the Class of 2017, will be provided in the 2017 Graduation Keepsake edition of The Twin City News, to be released on June 8th.
Because graduation is such a community event, the school’s administration wanted to share this information with the community as a whole.
Graduation is an important event in the lives of our young people. In order to ensure that each student has a moment to remember without it being spoiled by others, the Board of Trustees for Lexington School District Three has directed the administration to implement guidelines to present an orderly and dignified graduation ceremony.
Please be aware of the following guidelines:
Security will be handled by uniformed police officers
Unsolicited applause, catcalls, whistles, or any other form of noise during the ceremony is inappropriate and will not be tolerated. Spectators who engage in such behavior will be removed from the ceremony by uniformed police officers.
No air horns, cowbells, sirens, or other noisemakers will be allowed in the stadium.
No flash or video photography will be permitted on the field during the graduation ceremony. Spectators may take pictures and/or videos from their seats but should not hinder the sight of other spectators.
In case of rain, the graduation ceremony will be held in the Fine Arts Center. Each senior will be given a limited number of tickets for reserved seating in the FAC should we need to use it. Reserved seating will be held until 6:50 p.m., at which time we will open the center to anyone wishing to be seated. Details for handling an overflow crowd will be given to seniors during graduation practice.
The public is encouraged to attend the Batesburg-Leesville High School graduation on May 26, but everyone attending the graduation ceremony is expected to adhere to the guidelines listed above in order to ensure that all graduates receive the respect that they so richly deserve. Only those individuals with tickets will be allowed into the Fine Arts Center. All other guests may view the graduation on closed-circuit television in the air-conditioned gymnasium.
