Lexington One Honors 1,618 Graduates

LEXINGTON, S.C. — Lexington County School District One honors 1,618 graduates from the district’s five high schools on Tuesday, May 30, and Wednesday, May 31, at the University of South Carolina’s Colonial Life Arena located at 801 Lincoln Street in Columbia, South Carolina. At this time, these students have earned about $114 million in scholarships.

Tuesday, May 30

White Knoll High School students graduate at 8 a.m.

Gilbert High School students graduate at 12 p.m.

Pelion High School students graduate at 4 p.m.

Wednesday, May 31

River Bluff High School students graduate at 8 a.m.

Lexington High School students graduate at 12 p.m.

Here are some interesting facts about each graduating class.

White Knoll High

393 graduates

About $27 million in scholarships

Two graduating students, who will complete the Electronic Engineering Technology Program through Midlands Technical College, were named Michelin Scholars and will co-op with a Michelin manufacturing facility.

Gilbert High

210 graduates

More than $12.6 million in scholarships

Andrew Smith had perfect attendance throughout his 12-year school career.

Twelve student athletes finished in the top 10 percent of this graduating class.

Pelion High

164 graduates

More than $12 million in scholarships

This graduating class broke the school’s highest scholarship total in school history.

River Bluff High

423 graduates

More than $29 million in scholarships

The members of the RBHS Class of 2017 were freshmen when RBHS opened and are the first graduating class to attend RBHS all four years.

Lexington High

428 graduates

More than $33 million in scholarships

One graduating student, Jalon M. Daniels, earned 44 scholarships totaling more than $1.6 million.

In this graduating class, 92.6 percent qualified for a National Career Readiness Certificate based on their ACT WorkKeys scores.
