B-L Primary Recognizes its Military Children
Batesburg-Leesville, SC - On May 26, Batesburg-Leesville Primary School recognized and honored its students who are part of military families. Each child’s name and military relative were announced over the PA system and caps or leis were worn by the students, as well as a light-up patriotic bracelet. A flag was placed on each child’s desk using play dough as the base. Patriotic wind socks were hung outside of each student’s classroom door. Red, white and blue balloons were hung in the main corridor of the school and a special bulletin board was displayed to honor them.
Honored students and their military family member include: Christian Barr and his father Lucas Barr; Akira Brunson and her mother Carrie Brunson; Ali Kathryn Bruner and her farther Trey Bruner; Scarlett Cortez and her father Daniel Cortez; Lacie Dean and her father Treavor Dean; John Depew, III and his father John Depew, Jr. Jamie Kersey and her mother Brittany Dooley; Arionna Mason and her father Elton Jefferson; and Kiya Wootton and her uncle Christopher Wootton.
