Lexington One Board Promotes McCormack, Hires Baskett

LEXINGTON, S.C. — During a special called board meeting on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at 7:30 a.m., the Lexington County School District One Board of Trustees approved the promotion of Matthew L. McCormack to the position of Student Services coordinator in Central Services and the hiring of Brandon L. Baskett as assistant principal at Lexington High School for the 2017–2018 academic year.

Matthew McCormack began his education career in 2005 as a mathematics teacher for White Knoll High School. He joined A.C. Flora High School in Richland County School District One in 2010 as dean of students and was promoted in 2011 to assistant principal.

McCormack rejoined Lexington District One in 2013 when he became assistant principal at Lexington High School.

McCormack earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Education in educational administration from Grand Canyon University. He holds certifications in secondary education and secondary educational administration. He is a member of the South Carolina Association of School Administrators and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development.
