B-L Middle and High Band Students Receive Awards
Batesburg-Leesville, SC - Members of the 2016-17 Batesburg-Leesville Middle and High School Bands were recognized in May for their hard work and performance during the annual Awards Program.
The following students received recognition.
Middle School Band Awards

National School Colorguard Award – Brittany Boland
Most Improved Musician – Austin Guo
Most Improved Colorguard – flag – Harley Lawson
Most Improved Colorguard – weapon – Shanise Dunn
Most Improved Overall – Mariela Rios
Esprit de Corps Award – Hannah Taylor
Director’s Award - Aza McMillan
John Philip Sousa Award – Lucas Swygert
Senior band member, Lucas Swygert, was also presented with a $1000 scholarship by the B-L Band Booster Club. The Batesburg-Leesville Middle School Band is under the direction of Cissy Terlizzi and the Batesburg-Leesville High School Band is under the direction of Josh Brown.
