Serious car crash close Hwy. 321 South at Glenn Rd. Saturday night

Gaston, SC (Paul Kirby) A serious car crash closed Hwy. 321 South where it intersects with Glenn Rd., east of Gaston last night. The collision happened about 9:30 p.m.

Hwy. 321 South was closed to traffic for some time and the traffic was being re-routed down Gardners Terrace Road by law enforcement officers on the scene. EMS and fire service personnel worked on the patients who had been injured in the crash while the traffic was detoured. There were emergency crews there from both Gaston and South Congaree.

According to eyewitnesses, both vehicles in the crash had heavy damage to their front halves. This is a dangerous intersection where wrecks often occur and many are severe, or have serious injuries.

The SCHP is investigating the crash and has not said what caused it. They also have not said which driver may face charges in the collision.
