Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher identifies victim of fatal car wreck

Lexington, SC - Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who died due to a single-vehicle accident on July 15, 2017 at approximately 9:30 P.M. on Willow Forks Road in Lexington County.

According to Coroner Fisher, Mr. Marty Shealy, Jr., 33, of Batesburg was killed when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Mr. Shealy, who was not wearing his seatbelt when the collision occurred, died at the scene due to traumatic injuries sustained upon impact.

A passenger in the vehicle, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The accident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
