South Congaree Rodeo Rally 3K race postponed

South Congaree, SC (Paul Kirby) The South Congaree Rodeo Rally 3K race that was scheduled to be held at 8:30 a.m.on Saturday, July 22, 2017 has been postponed according to the Town of South Congaree's Events Coordinator Courtney Smith. It was to be the kickoff for a day of events that would usher in the 2nd Annual South Congaree Rodeo that is scheduled for the following weekend.

According to Smith, the street dance, family games, and food truck event that is scheduled to be held at the intersection of Main Street and Ramblin Road on Saturday evening is still being held. Besides the music and dancing, that event will feature family friendly games, bounce houses, face-painting and balloon art for the children and food trucks and treats like Silly's Sno-Balls as well. The only cost associated with this event is the food items which are sold by individual vendors.

This event begins at 6:00 p.m. and will continue until 9:00 p.m. During that time, a short portion of Ramblin Road between Main and Oak Street will be closed. There is plenty of parking available at Congaree Elementary School. The stage is located right at the parking lot of the Advanced Auto Parts store.

The 3K race will be rescheduled for sometime in the fall according to Smith.
