District 3 Teachers and Administrators Earn TECH UP Technology Badges
Batesburg-Leesville, SC - During the 20171-8 school year, Lexington District 3 created Technology Badges as a means of providing a cohesive focus for training and professional development for teachers, staff and administrators within the district. The badges were designed around a variety of instructional purposes, such as digital workflow, formative assessment, student collaboration, etc. While technology tools are highlights and suggested, the digital resources that can be used to meet these instructional goals are endless. The focus and intent remains on empowering teachers and administrators through sound instructional practices, while utilizing digital tools to enhance these best practices.
Badges were earned following professional learning, classroom implementation and a digital reflection of the instructional value of the tool. Badge recipients received digital badges for email, physical badges and a gift card to Wiz’s Eatery. At the end of the school year, Digital Learning Coach, Andrea Derrick hosted a celebration for all employees who had earned badges and through the generosity of many local businesses, provided wonderful door prizes that were given to lucky winners.
