Lexington 3 Teachers Selected to Serve as Seesaw Ambassadors
Batesburg-Leesville, SC - During the 2016-17 BLPS began using an amazing digital resource called Seesaw. The Seesaw platform allows for the creation of digital portfolios for students and it is a tool for formative assessment for teachers. Seesaw provides a school to home connection for parents and other caregivers in a real-time digital environment.
Seesaw periodically invites all teachers to apply for acceptance into the Seesaw Ambassador Program. Seesaw Ambassadors are a community of inspiring educators who shape the future of the Seesaw product and help spread the word about Seesaw. Ambassadors receive “sneak peeks” to new features as well as access to virtual training that they can replicate at their respective schools.
Four Lexington 3 employees were selected to serve as Seesaw Ambassadors during the 2016-17 school year. These Ambassadors are Veronica Brandau, Ashley Fort and Melanie Lorick from B-L Primary and Andrea Derrick from the District Office. Some of their expectations were to host two professional development sessions and serve as a resource for B-L Primary School.
Batesburg-Leesville Primary School will continue to use the Seesaw platform next school year and parents are encouraged to create parent accounts. All B-L Primary parents will receive information from their child’s teacher on how they can sign up for Seesaw. B-L Elementary will implement the Seesaw platform during the second quarter of the school year.
