Pelion, SC (Angelica Iglesias) - The three 10-megawatt solar energy farms off Old Charleston Road in Pelion, SC have begun their second phase of construction. When the project is finished, it will be 360 acres which has the ability to provide clean energy for over 10,000 homes.

Phase I has been named Odyssey Farm and can be seen in the picture below. Phase III will begin shortly after phase II. Their names will be Champion Farm and Swamp Fox Farm. All 3 sites are owned by Pine Gate Renewables but built and maintained by Cypress Creek Renewables.

According to their website, Pine Gate Renewables is "intent on contributing to the broad transformation of our nation’s energy model because we believe that clean renewable power is both sensible and practical, and that locally generated clean energy is not merely an alternative – it is the only way forward."

Cypress Creek Renewables is based out of Santa Monica, CA that specializes in the ownership and development of long-term solar energy project. They have contributed a great deal of solar energy to Lexington County.
