Lexington 3’s BOOST Program to Return and Has Been Expanded

Batesburg-Leesville, SC - Lexington County School District 3’s free early childhood program BOOST (Beginning Opportunities Offered for Student Transition) will return in the 2017-18 school year and additional sessions will be offered. BOOST is designed to engage families with 2-3-year olds in a Montessori learning environment, and is an interactive classroom setting for parent and child.

BOOST Montessori sessions will be offered on Mondays/Wednesdays, beginning September 11 for 10 students and another session will be offered on Tuesdays/Thursdays beginning on September 12 for 10 additional students. Both sessions will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and will last for eight weeks. Currently, the Tuesday/Thursday session is filled for first semester and a limited number of slots are still available for the Monday/Wednesday session for first semester. Both sessions will be held at Batesburg-Leesville Primary School. Applications are also now being accepted for sessions that will begin in January, 2018.

Children participating in BOOST will experience exciting opportunities with Montessori materials, develop focus and concentration, improve motor skills and cognitive development, while preparing them for kindergarten readiness and a positive school experience.

Parents will develop new knowledge of Montessori and their child’s learning environment. Additionally, they will learn about early brain development, and be introduced to the importance of language and literacy.

This is not a “drop-off” childcare program or mother’s morning out program. Parents/guardians/caregivers will be required to participate in all aspects of the BOOST program. Spaces are limited, and there will be a waiting list for the next sessions.

Applications are now available by contacting BOOST Coordinator, Debbie Teer at 803-315-8184 or email Debbie at Applications should be mailed or delivered to Batesburg-Leesville Primary School, 800 Summerland Avenue, Batesburg-Leesville, SC 29006 or emailed to Ms. Teer. Questions relating to the Lexington 3 BOOST program should also be directed to Ms. Teer at the number and email listed above.

Parents of children enrolled in the BOOST program must provide the child’s current SC Immunization Form when they submit the required application. There is no fee to participate in the BOOST program.

BOOST Coordinator, Debbie Teer, will be at Fee Collection/Schedule Pick Up Day on August 10 at B-L High and can provide applications and answer questions for parents about the BOOST program.
