One arrested after shooting incident in the town of Batesburg-Leesville

Batesburg-Leesville, SC (Paul Kirby) – Deputies have arrested a person after that individual discharged a firearm at a business near Batesburg-Leesville. The incident happened at a convenience store at 6670 Augusta Hwy. near Oswald Lumber.

The shooting incident was first reported just before 8:30 p.m. Monday night. When law enforcement officers arrived on the scene, they did find evidence of the shooting that included shell casings. They were also able to locate the gun that was used a short while later. There was no one injured as a result of the incident.

Authorities say that the person who discharged the firearm has been arrested and is facing charges related to the incident. They have not released the name of the person who was arrested and say that the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
