Sheriff’s deputies investigating shooting near Chapin

Chapin, SC (Paul Kirby) - The Lexington County Sheriff’s Depart is looking into a shooting that occurred in the Chapin are of the county Sunday afternoon.

According to Captain Adam Myrick, spokesman for the department, they are investigating a shooting that happened this afternoon in the 100 block of Millers Branch Rd. near Chapin. Based on interviews they’ve conducted, they believe a man drove away from that location after he was shot in the upper body. The man who was shot crashed his vehicle in the 800 block of Westwoods Dr. He was transported by EMS, and is being treated at the hospital.

The sheriff's department has said that they are actively seeking a suspect at this time.
