Welcome Letter from Lexington District 3
Batesburg-Leesville, SC -
Dear Lexington County School District Three Community,
The summer has quickly flown by and in a few short days students will be preparing for the start of school. The sounds of late morning snoring will be replaced by that of alarm clocks and school bells. To say we are excited about the return of school would be an understatement. Our faculty and staffs have worked diligently throughout the summer preparing for the 2017-2018 school year. We worked on everything from professional development with our teachers and administrators to updating our facilities and grounds.
One of our primary objectives this summer was to further invest in ensuring the safety of our students and employees while in school. I think this will be noticeable as you enter most of our campuses in the fall. We have made facility upgrades at several of our entrances and revisited our screening processes and school safety plans. Other such projects to support this goal will continue throughout the year, but will not be a disruption to teaching and learning.
We are very excited about the 2017-2018 school year and are looking forward to our students’ return on Tuesday, August 22, 2017. We encourage our community to become an active part of the lives of our students by serving as mentors, reading buddies, volunteers, chaperones, and supporters of our students and our District. If you would like to make a difference in the lives of children, let us know and we will help you achieve that goal.
Thank you for your support of our schools and the children we serve. I consider it a privilege and an honor to serve as superintendent of Lexington County School District Three and look forward to partnering with you for the success of our students.
With Panther Pride,
Randall R. Gary, Ed.D.
