Meet the Lexington 3 School Leaders

Batesburg-Leesville, SC - With the start of a new school year, it’s important for parents to know who is leading his/her child’s educational institution. Lexington School District 3 is proud to introduce its academic leaders for the 2017-2018 school year.

Tonya Watson

Principal – B-L Primary School

Mrs. Watson has 38 years of experience in the field of education, with 33 of those years having been spent in Lexington School District 3. Mrs. Watson received her undergraduate degree in Mass Communications from Winthrop University and has two graduate degrees in Journalism and Educational Administration from the University of South Carolina. Mrs. Watson and her husband, Joe, have two grown sons—Jeff and Reid. They enjoy spending time with their four grandchildren.

Jaime Hembree

Principal – B-L Elementary School

Mrs. Hembree is entering her third year as principal at BLES. Prior to working in Lexington 3, she served as the Assistant Principal of Brookland-Cayce Grammar School. Mrs. Hembree holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Marshall University and a Masters of Arts in School Administration from Gardner Webb. Currently, she is also working to attain an Ed.D in Educational Leadership. Mrs. Hembree and her husband, Mike, live in Lexington and are the proud parents of Ryan Austin Hembree, who is enlisted in the Navy, and a lab mix named Bandit. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising, traveling and studying weather.

Sharah Clark

Principal – B-L Middle School

Mrs. Clark has been a middle level educator for more than 25 years. Originally from the upstate of SC, she has lived in the Midlands for the past 22 years. A graduate of Furman University, Mrs. Clark obtained her National Board Certification in Teaching in Early Adolescent Science as well as a M.Ed. in Elementary Education and a M.Ed. in Education Administration. Her educational career began in Aiken County, then Newberry County, and now Lexington School District 3. This is Mrs. Clark’s second year as principal at BLMS. When not in school, she enjoys spending time with her family.

Sonya Bryant

Principal – B-L High School

Mrs. Bryant, a former English teacher at BLHS, rejoins Lexington School District 3 after serving as the principal of Laurens District 55 High School. Mrs. Bryant holds a Masters in Educational Leadership and Supervision from Clemson University and a BA in Secondary Education with a specialization in English from USC-Aiken. She is also a graduate of Ridge Spring-Monetta High School. She is married to Brad Bryant and is the mother of Walt. The Bryants are sports enthusiasts and can’t wait to cheer on the Panthers!

Randall Price

Director – Lifelong Learning Center

Mr. Price has 27 years of experience in the field of education, with 12 of those years having been spent in Lexington School District 3. He is a graduate of Gilbert High School and earned several degrees from Winthrop and Clemson Universities, including a Master of Education and an Educational Specialist degree. In addition, Mr. Price has 32 years of experience serving in the Army, Army Reserves and Army National Guard and has worked overseas in Afghanistan, Kuwait and Egypt. He and his wife, Kelly, have two children—Morgan and Cameron.
