Lexington 3 Teachers of the Year announced
Bateburg-Leesville, SC (Mackenzie Taylor) - Lexington County School District Three is proud to announce the names of its Teachers of the Year for the 2017-2018 school year. These four dedicated professionals will vie for the title of District Teacher of the Year in late September.
Batesburg-Leesville Primary School
This is Mrs. Curry’s third year working at B-L Primary School where she teaches first grade. Mrs. Curry earned a degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Carolina. Her favorite part about teaching is getting to know her students and their families each year. She also loves tackling new challenges head-on and gaining perspective from those experiences. Mrs. Curry and her husband, CJ, have a one-year-old daughter named Falyn. They make their home in Lexington.
Batesburg-Leesville Elementary School
Mrs. McCleskey is in her sixth year of teaching third grade and what she loves most about her profession is seeing how much growth her students make academically throughout the year and getting to interact with them on a daily basis. Mrs. McCleskey has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University and previously worked in the Aiken County Public School District. She and her husband, Duke, live in Monetta and have three children--Cailyn, Claire and Carson.
Batesburg-Leesville Middle School
This is Mrs. Ingle’s third year at B-L Middle School where she teaches sixth grade English/Language Arts. Mrs. Ingle earned her bachelor’s degree in English, Language and Literature from the University of South Carolina and her Masters in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University. Her favorite part about teaching is knowing that she is educating the future leaders of America. Mrs. Ingle and her husband, Rob, have two daughters--Gracen and Addison. They live in Lexington.
Batesburg-Leesville High School
The 2017-2018 school year marks Mr. Spence’s sixth year at B-L High School where he is a member of the foreign language department teaching Spanish I and Spanish II. Mr. Spence has a degree in Spanish from the University of South Carolina and a Masters degree in Teacher Leadership from the University of Phoenix. The best part about teaching, according to Mr. Spence, is his students. He and his wife, Renee, have an 8-month-old daughter named Charlotte. They make their home in Lexington.
