Motorcycle wreck injuries one near South Congaree

South Congaree, SC (Paul Kirby) A motorcyclist was injured Thursday night in an accident that involved another vehicle at Platt Springs and Ramblin Road. The wreck happened after 8:00 p.m. when the motorcyclist, who was riding along with another biker, was hit by a vehicle as the bike was attempting to turn onto Ramblin..

According to eyewitnesses, the two cyclists were riding and both attempted the turn. The driver of the vehicle apparently didn’t see the second bike, hit it, and the impact threw the rider into the air. He landed near the point of impact of the vehicle and the motorcycles.

Units from the Lexington County Fire Service, the county’s EMS, and law enforcement responded. Troopers from the SCHP were also on the scene investigating the crash.

The EMS crew packaged the patient and transported him to a local medical center for treatment of traumatic injuries he received in the crash. It wasn’t clear if anyone in the vehicle was injured as a result of the collision.

The SCHP has not released the result of their investigation at this time.
