Pelion, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Pelion High School student body crowned their 2017 Homecoming Queen and her Royal Court during festivities at the school’s homecoming game Friday night. The Panthers played against the Columbia High School Capitals. PHS won the game by a score of 21-20.

The queen and court are voted on by the students at the school. Each year, a new court is selected and the 2017 queen will take part in the coronation of the 2018 court next year.

The 2017 Homecoming Queen was Miss Kaitlyn Dorrah. Kaitlyn is the daughter of John and Susan Dorrah. Her stapmother is Megan. She was escorted by her father who is a part-time officer with the Pelion Police Department, and works full-time with the SC Department of Transportation. He wore his Pelion PD uniform while escorting Kaitlyn during the halftime ceremony.
