The Mayor's Message from Springdale's Mayor Michael Bishop
Springdale, SC (Michael Bishop) - From a missing bird to the police department's National Night Out, all these responsibilities fall on your shoulders when you put on the hat of a small town mayor.
The McDonalds are missing their yellow cockatiel “Tequila”. Their phone number is 796-3054. If you see her, please let them know.
National Night Out is Tuesday, October 3 from 5:30 PM - 8 PM. This is an annual event that builds on the partnership between law enforcement and the community that they serve. This is a partnership where we ALL stand united against crime in the Springdale community. There will be FREE food and fun! Children are encouraged to dress as their favorite superhero! Event will take place in the park beside Town Hall.
The medians along Platt Springs Rd are coming along! The flowers should be coming in on the week of October 9th. These flowers will go on the ends of the medians where you currently see the gray dirt areas. We also got lights placed along the side of Town Hall and irrigation installed in the grass area in front of Town Hall.
Rainbow Dr. should be starting soon to be resurfaced. They will be cutting out all of the patches prior to resurfacing. Please don’t think they are just redoing the patches as they have to do that to create a flat surface prior to resurfacing.
2301 Mary Dr is October's yard of the month.
I'd like to send out a personal thank you to SCDOT and Lexington County. I've sent several requests recently from potholes to dead tree removals and they've done a great job responding quickly and professionally!
See you all Tuesday night!
