District Five partners with Department of Social Services for supper program
Irmo, SC - Lexington-Richland School District Five’s student nutrition department is continuing to ensure no child goes hungry by offering a “supper program” to students within the district. The program is made possible through the district’s partnership with the Department of Social Services (DSS) and it is the fourth year District Five has offered the program.
Students who attend Harbison West Elementary, Leaphart Elementary, Seven Oaks Elementary and Irmo High School are eligible to receive a free meal. District Five is also providing meals to the YMCA Northwest location on Kennerly Road. The program is offered after school Monday through Friday at all four locations.
“We are proud to partner with DSS to offer a supper program to our students in need,” said Todd Bedenbaugh, the district’s director of student nutrition. “Our priority in District Five is to make sure every child receives a hot meal.”
