District Three hosts second "Leadership Lex 3" event
Batesburg-Leesville, SC - A group of community members recently received the opportunity to be immersed in the programs and classrooms of Lexington School District Three through a special one-day event called “Leadership Lex 3.”
The district hosted this semester’s cohort on Thursday, October 5th. The by-invitation-only group of 14 started the day at Batesburg-Leesville Middle School where participants enjoyed a delicious breakfast courtesy of Lexington Three’s Food Services Department and heard remarks from district leaders. The rest of the day was spent visiting Lexington Three’s schools so that guests could learn more about the academically-challenging courses and numerous co-curricular activities that the district has to offer. The day wrapped up with lunch and a collaboration session where “Leadership Lex 3” participants could discuss what they had learned.
"As we continue to explore ways of communicating, marketing, and collaborating with the community, we feel there’s no better way to do this than to invite community members into our schools to give them a first-hand look at the wonderful things that are happening. By expanding our list of participants each year, we hope to build a cadre of “Leadership Lex 3” participants who are able to serve as ambassadors for our district. We want to give them a glimpse of how we are educating our students, as well as how we are preparing them for college, the workplace, and most importantly, for life. In addition, this program gives us the opportunity to receive valuable feedback from our stakeholders as to how we can better serve our students and the community," said Dr. Randall Gary, Superintendent of Lexington School District Three.
The district hopes to host a “Leadership Lex 3” group twice a year. If you’re interested in participating, contact Angie Rye via email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
