Cayce officers investigating shooting at a hotel off Airport Blvd

Cayce, SC (Paul Kirby) – The Cayce Department of Public Safety is investigating a shooting incident late Thursday night at the Master’s Inn in the city. This is located on the frontage road at I-26 and Airport Boulevard.

According to Cayce DPS Chief Byron Snellgrove, a young man shot another person in the stomach. The shooter then fled the scene. The injuries the man who was shot received are not believed to be life threatening.

Officers from the Cayce Department of Public Safety, assisted by the Springdale Police Department and other agencies, actively searched for a suspect in the area late into the night. Chief Snellgrove said that the department was working some leads in the case Friday. He did indicate that this was not a random act of violence and they didn’t feel the suspect was an immediate threat to the general public.
