Lexington, SC – Saturday evening, the Greater Lexington Chamber and Visitors Center hosted their second Lexington Craft Beerfest at the Icehouse Amphitheater in downtown Lexington. The entire event was stellar! The weather was perfect, the beer and food were magnificent, and the entertainment was well thought out, it fit the event and the crowd, and the actual performance was great.
The Lexington Craft Beerfest features over 40 regional craft brewers, cuisine from local restaurants and live music by Fantasy - a band that brought together the beach, Motown and smoothed-out R&B sounds.
Tickets were extremely reasonable, just $20 in advance. The event sold out its 1,400 tickets before it started so there were none of the $30 “the day of” tickets even available. Tickets included all samples of the craft beer available, a commemorative glass and non-alcoholic beverages. Food tickets were available for purchase inside the festival. To help patrons drink responsibly, Checker Yellow Cab even pitched in by covering the first $10 of fare for guests from the festival to their home or hotel.
The festival was the first major event to be hosted at the Icehouse Amphitheater at its inaugural event last year, one of the key projects under the Town of Lexington Vision Plan that President/CEO Otis Rawl says is a staple in the community.
“Seeing families come together for events like concerts and festivals in downtown Lexington shows that our residents support the vision for better community engagement,” said Rawl. “There’s an exciting future ahead for Main Street and its businesses.”
