Two Lexington Three schools accepted into TransformSC's innovation network

Batesburg-Leesvile, SC - Batesburg-Leesville Primary and Batesburg-Leesville Elementary Schools have been accepted into TransformSC’s network of innovative schools. These two Lexington County School District Three campuses join 61 other schools and 6 entire districts across the state working to transform education in South Carolina.

“When schools volunteer to participate in TransformSC, it is a testament to their leadership and commitment to innovation,” said Mike Brenan, co-chair of TransformSC and state president of BB&T, and Pamela Lackey, state president of AT&T and co-chair of TransformSC. “We welcome Batesburg-Leesville Primary and Batesburg-Leesville Elementary Schools to the TransformSC network, and we look forward to celebrating their success in the coming years.”

To be accepted into the TransformSC network, the schools submitted a three-year innovation plan that was evaluated and approved by TransformSC’s Action Team Chairs and staff.

TransformSC schools receive a variety of supports and opportunities through participation in the network, including access to national experts, mentorship opportunities with other innovative schools and assistance with the implementation of innovation plans.

“Batesburg-Leesville Primary School is delighted to join the prestigious schools who have been named TransformSC Schools. We have worked hard to be progressive and to emphasize the skills needed to grow students who are equipped to be productive members of our community and to be successful in any field they pursue. We look forward to networking with the many businesses and educational professionals throughout South Carolina to learn more about how TransformSC Schools can lead the way to excellence for all students,” said Tonya Watson, Principal of B-L Primary School.

Jaime Hembree, Principal of B-L Elementary School, added: "The faculty and staff of Batesburg-Leesville Elementary School are thrilled to join the TransformSC network! We look forward to having the opportunity to collaborate with business leaders, educators, students, parents and stakeholders across the state."
