District Four bus involved in minor accident Thursday morning

Gaston, SC (Paul Kirby) A Lexington School District Four school bus was involved in a minor accident this morning on Meadowfield Road between Fallaw and Blackville Roads near Gaston. According to Dave Toole, a representative of the district, the bus was running its route when the mirror of the bus was struck by another vehicle that was passing it. The mirror was damaged as a result of that strike. Neither of the drivers in the accident was charged,

According to Toole, none of the children on the bus was injured and all were checked by the school’s nurse once they arrived at their destination. He said that the district’s transportation office contacted all of the parents of the children except for four. Those four parents either didn’t answer the phone or had numbers that were changed or disconnected.

A similar accident happened in the same general area last year. In that case, the large extended mirrors that stick out off the bus was also broken in a collision with a larger truck.
