SCDC escapee may be headed to Chapin area

Chapin, SC (Paul Kirby) A inmate with the SC Department of Correction has escaped a minimum-security facility in Florence, SC. He is from the Chapin area of Lexington County off Stoney Point Drive. This runs off Epting Camp Road of Old Lexington Highway. This is very early into the investigation; however the SCDC has alerted the Lexington County Sheriff’s Office to be on the lookout.

The inmate’s name is Christopher P Sherer. He is 49 years-old, has a medium build, is a white male with graying hair, a fair complexion, and is 5’9” tall.. He has the yin-yang tattoos on his right arm, as well as many other tattoos that include a cross, a Gamecock logo, a sun, a heart, some Chinese writing, and others. He was serving 3 years after being prosecuted in Lexington County.
