Sheriff’s department looking into possible threat made against an Irmo Middle School student over th

Irmo, SC (Paul Kirby) The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is looking into allegations that a student at Irmo Middle School was threatened over social media last weekend. According to the department, the case has been assigned to an investigator.

Right now, the department has said that a mother of a student contacted them over the weekend to report that her child had been threatened over a social media platform. An investigator has spoken with the student who made the threats and also the student who was threatened.

The administration of Lexington / Richland School District Five and Irmo Middle School were notified, and they are working with the school’s resource officer and the investigator from the LCSD on the case. Because of the age of the suspect involved, and the sensitive nature of the investigation, no further information is expected to be released soon.
