Ground work to start next week on Red Bank Publix
Red Bank, SC (Paul Kirby) The site work on the new Publix in Red Bank is expected to begin as early as next week. According to Clifford Fisher, president of Owens Fisher Construction of Red Bank, that company has been awarded the contract to do the grading, paving, storm and sanitary sewer work on the site.
Fisher said that the old, white, brick house on Platt Springs Road will be demolished and removed very quickly. Then, you’ll see the dirt begin to move as the rest of the work of grading the property and installing the infrastructure begins to move forward. Eventually, the red metal building that housed Mark Rouse, Jr.’s State Farm office, and a number of other small businesses, will also be removed. That will give patrons an entrance to the Publics from South Lake and Platt Springs.
Barring any unforeseen delays, the building could be completed and occupied by the middle of next year.
